Solid 14kt Gold

14kt / 18kt gold is comprised of a combination of 24kt pure gold and other metal alloys mixed together and utilized as a solid metal to form or cast jewelry items.  Solid gold is the metal choice that most people relate to permanent jewelry as it will retain its color for a lifetime.

Gold Filled

14kt gold-filled jewelry is comprised of a thick layer of gold bonded to a base metal center; usually brass.  This jewelry must be comprised of at least 5% gold by weight.  Gold filled jewelry is an affordable alternative when compared to the cost of solid gold at today's price.  It is designed to last for many years at a fraction of the cost, when cared for properly.

Fun fact:  There are many pieces of gold-filled jewelry still in existence today dating back to the Victorian era (over 100 years old).

Gold Vermeil

This type of gold is made with a 14kt thin layer of gold plated around sterling silver.  We do not offer this product to be used as permanent jewelry as the gold can wear quickly and is not suitable for the rigors of everyday wear.

Gold Plated 

This type of gold is made with a 14kt very thin layer of gold plated around a base metal usually comprised of brass or other "mystery metal".  We do not offer this product to be used as permanent jewelry as the gold can wear quickly and is not suitable for the rigors of everyday wear.
